Finally adding to my canon database

Post by Darth Wong »

In case anyone's curious, I've finally added a new episode to my long-dormant canon database: Scorpion!

I plan to start adding other episodes from other series too, in no particular order. When I made the TNG database, I made the whole thing and then uploaded it at once. This time, I'm planning to add individual episodes or even parts of episodes piecemeal, because I figure there's no point waiting to get a whole series done before uploading.

How quickly can we expect more?

Are you adding them as you see them on TV?

Just want to point one thing out: Look at the quote where the Doctor is talking about 8472's DNA. In addition to the claptrap about "more DNA = superior life form", it also shows a limitation on Voyager's computational power... that they'd need years to decipher it. Based on the progress of the Human Genome Project, I'd say that this indicates that ST computers aren't more than 3 or 4 orders of magnitude faster than modern computers, at best.

Looks like Moore's law dies out in the future, doesn't it? :D

SCREENPLAY: Ext. space- Voyager (optical) as it turns away from the Borg graveyard. The alien bio-ship sends out a crackling tendril of energy, whip-like, powerful, the same effect seen in the Teaser. The tendril narrowly misses Voyager, but even so sends our ship spinning wildly!
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the first shot miss and the second one hit, striking the shields directly and sent Voyager spinning?

It would be interesting to count the number of photon torpedoes fired by Voyager during the 7 year run of the entire series, and compare that figure to its pitiful 32-torpedo inventory
Voyager fired 93 torpedoes during the series, after having only 38 as of the fifth episode, according to http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/voy.htm . The torpedo count and the shuttle attrition rate are common nits, and often picked.

You know what they say when they launch a shuttle on Voyager, right?

Borg "adaptation"....

Post by ZT »

I am so amazed that alot of people
(Trekkies and warsies" alike) believe that the Borg can become immune to small arms because of the personal shield.

In "Arsenal of Freedom" (I think)
a Robot Drone developed deflector shields to stop hand phaser fire.

Tasha Yar didn't throw her phaser
away saying " oh gee it adapted! It has shields now, our weapons are useless!!!

Yar and Riker CONCENTRATED their fire on the drone, overloaded the shields and blew it to hell.

ANYONE else try a COMMON SENSE soultion for dealing with the Borg?
"I'll suppose there will be a
war now hmmmm? All that running
around and shooting a one another
your would have thought sooner
or later it would have gone out
of fashion."

Oh and an easy way to kill the Borg:
the good old submachine gun!
Projectile weapons, gotta love them the Borg can't adapt just go and mow them down with your Beretta 92, Mp5, M16, or good ol' Remmie 870.

It also appears the Borg are vulnerable to old fashioned blade style whoop ass. Worf cuts some up rather nicely in FC.

The Borg don't appear to be very good at stopping KE weapons, in general.

Let's see some one try the steel-toed boot to ass method and see if they can take that. :D

sad but true, that is why Mike made the borg shield page to dispell that myth, oh and welcome to SD.net ZT, good to see you here.

A modern day Kirvo class missile cruiser in space could rape the Borg.

There inability to stop KE weapons and weak ass hulls combine with the SS-N-19's delayed action fuse would really screw them over..

From the Canon Database:
The Borg: This scene was produced as described, and it showed that Borg cubes are almost entirely hollow, with vast, open interior spaces (a similar scene was shown in STFC).
Did we see the huge empty interior of a Borg Cube in ST:FC? I'm not sure as I can't distinctly recall it at this time. However, we did see such a scene during the actual First Contact with the Borg, the TNG episode "Q who" or something like that, where we see how a Borg cube is just a big hollow mass of tubes and piping.

We saw a big open space in Picard opening dream sequence when he is on the cube.
