Who is the worse leader?

Janeway who has cost the federation more redshirts than she actually has, lost countless shuttles, and aided and abetted the enemies of her star nation.

Or

Daala. The most persistantly stupid Admiral ever to be given a rank badge by the Empire? Repeated lost ships for no gain, lost a superweapon to a jumped up jedi brat and did more than any other officer to squander the flagging might of the empire?

Daala.

Because after the first book with her in she becomes so contemptable as a threat to the main characters, because you know that whatever she tries will go horribly wrong. Not an effective villain in the slightest.

At least Janeway's magical destiny means she's always going to WIN.

They're no actual need for them to fight, it's a debate over who's dumber. Not to mention that causing someone to picture Janeway naked is (or ought to be) a bannable offense not to mention a crime against humanity.

Daala apparently got her Admiral rank because she was really good in bed. Janeway got her Admiral rank so she be behind a desk.

Janeway is the bigger screwup. She knowingly and deliberately fucks everything up for everyone, claims some prime directive BS, and then does the same things every episode.

It is kind of hard to give a sterling recommendation for either one, but I think that Janeway is worse. Daala seemed much better at organizing her forces and maintaining discipline. Janeway just seemed like she didn't give a damn about what was going on with her ship and crew. Neither was competent, but I think that Janeway was LESS competent. Close call, though.

One good thing can be said for Daala: She was able to reorganize Imperial forces in a fashion that made it possible for a competent leader to make use of them. Her granting full citizenship to aliens and allowing them and women to fully serve were critical in establishing the stability of the Imperial remenant.

She is completely useless as a commander. As a desk jockey though, she has proven herself to be fairly competent (Note that this is because she has 11 years experience of that, and none in combat)

This is one where we have to look beyond the forward image. Behind Janeway is B&B. Behind Daala is KJA. Well, here it is a tie. So let's move on shall we.

Janeway. Finds a way to lose most of her crew. Then, takes on Maquise (sp) officers. Then, manages to just royally piss everyone off by eliminating thier only way home by destroying some caretaker array just to save a few million Ocampa lives. Repeatedly spews prim directive dialect to everyone in order to keep thier noses out of some uber tech or chance to make friends and get home. Then directly contradicts this by giving enemies thier own technology. Also, after trudging on about the prime directive, she gives UFPs sworn enemies the Borg the chance to wipe out an entire inter dimensional race. Which of course almost causes a galactic war for the UFP with beings they do not know much about. By the way, how are they doing against the Dominion?

Daala. Somehow manages to keep strick discipline and order in four Star Destroyers and a scientific installation inside of a black hole 'maw' phenomenon. Aside from this she never sends a shuttle and does not even give a second thought to why they had been in there for over a decade. Then manages to not only lose the most powerful weapon imaginable, but one fourth her force. Then, in another blunder, manages to lose another fourth of her fleet. In a desperate attempt to regain dignity is willing to sacrifice another fourth ship in order to achieve something that might or might not succeed. Of course, it doesn't work and she loses that last fourth. However, in her defense. She managed to gather the remaining warlords, eliminate them, reunite the Empire and even gained respect from Palleon.

My vote went to Janeway. Daala didn't come inches away from causing a galactic war her side couldn't win. She managed to pool together resources and almost struck a devestating blow to a renegade government she was orginally sworn to destroy.

Both are lousy field commanders. However, in Daala's defense, troops are loyal, and she isn't the victim of soap opera style writing. Plus, she's more attractive physically.

The only reason Janeway survived seven years is because of her charicter sheild. If it wernt for that Voyager would have been destroyed within a week

[sarcasm] But Janeway was able to seamlessly integrate Maquis crew into Star Fleet in just three episodes. She is a much better CO. [end sarcasm]

Daala doesn't even have to be live-action to be more attractive.

The key difference is simple:

Daala actually remembered that the Rebel Alliance/New Republic was the enemy and actually fought them if admittedly about as dumb as can be.

Janeway aided and abbetted the sworn enemy of her nation.

That was the poing I was making. Janeway not only aided UFP enemies, but almost caused a major galactic war with thier enemies enemies. Daala on the other hand, ass pounded Mon Calamari doing nothing more than being a Dark Empire rewright. Thanks KJA!
