Yeah well, this was just a little addition to the links page under the SD.net link, probly just the whipings off his ass. Spanky: I think everyone is being overly harsh on him (I am under no illusion about him I stated he can be an idiot and wont admit defeat but I have seen worse people on this board (they arent as vocal though )) also I tend to go for underdogs - hey I argue pro trek so that should be clear.

Im just wondering if he will accept the debate (hes curently in talks with Wong but I dont see it leading to a debate).

Darth Wong, I certainly wouldn't worry too much since Stardestroyer.net and you have an established rep and are already well-known factors in the virtual community. I'd even go so far as to say well respected and and accepted as a 'place to be' when one needs straight-up information. I don't want to lay it on thick 'cause I don't want the image of buttering up, but hell, truth's truth and the fact is anyone who goes bombing through other forums trying to badmouth you and the Stardestroyer is only going to damage himself.

Darkling, I admit that I like Trek too, I really do-- mostly TOS and Next Gen minus Wesley seasons. I never could palate DS9 and in the ultimate of heresy, I never saw anything wrong with Voyager (in fact, comparing DS9 to Voyager, I'd say that Voyager was actually closer to the original spirit of TOS, but my ties to Babylon 5 may influence my decision). And I think Enterprise is also a helluva lot of fun.

Still, all said, of the established and well-known franchises I like Star Wars the best. It has a quality that Star Trek lost when it became a 'quantity' based production and even though I liked TNG, the political correctness was hard to choke down. Star Wars presents a much more honest and sincere appraisal of the human condition; that people with power will take and abuse, that in order to restore liberty the righteous will have to ready for eternal struggle. There is a very basic philosophical difference, I think, between those who embrace Star Trek as the example of humanity and those who embrace Star Wars. Wishful idealism makes for sweet dreams, but reality bites and those who are unprepared-- are consumed.

Well, those are more quasi-philosophical rants from the Coyote. Damn, I just realized that I'm always dating chicks who are either Psychologists or Philosophy majors. That can't be healthy. I need another beer.

While he said that he was editing it for language, it is clear that he edited it for content. He left in most of Mike's flames, but cleverly deleted many of Mike's points. Sounds like he has learned his lesson from his attempts to debate in a more reasonable fashion.
