Okay I posted this question over at SpaceBattles (no response).
Since the TL's in the ICS are rated at 200GT does this mean that if they were fired at the ground they would produce an explosion of similar size to a 200GT nuclear weapon (or 200GT of TNT) or does the difference in delivery mean that the effect is TOTALLY different?
First post here, sorry if it's already been done or is a stupid question.
Effect of 200GT TL's

No the weapon is DIRECTED
An explosion is wasteful
How TL preform is based on tonange of relative damage, Those 200Giga-tons are FOCUS along one single path. Imagin it as a 50000000 Cal sized bullet but with heat/emp and other waveform properties that further enchance the damage so when you shot your doing DET damage but besides the KE and sear powerful involved you also loose quite a bit in energy to heat transfer
Meaning it would bor along a single path vaproising alot, melting more
Rough Guestamate 200 Gigs is enough for 400 Meters of Vaporisation and melting along a single four foot diamter path
But as for acutal cal's ask Wong
