Collaborative VS DVD
I'll try again...!
Anyone up for a collaborative documentary about the Trek vs. Wars community? I'd like to put this together, but since I haven't the funds to fly to the four corners of the Earth, this is my proposal:
Those that wish to be "interviewed" need access to a video camera. Then the footage needs to get to me, via snail mail or download!
I have no hard-line ideas yet as to content, but it should write itself!

I like the idea, I have NO great credibility, but still.

I don't know... The first time you tried to post any of the flames you'd have to bump it to a TV-MA or R rating. And that's probably just the milder ones.

Re: Collaborative VS DVD
You could contact the guys who made "Trekkies". They are making the sequel of now and I think it would be a great idea if we contact them. See http://www.trekdoc.com/ for info on the original project and http://www.trekkies2.com/ for the under production new project. They are willing to interview people, I would have talked to them but since I will not be in the US untill next year one of you guys should contact them. This would be a great oppurtunity to showcase the VS community.Lord Poe wrote:I'll try again...!

I think we need to make our own, various cities of sd.netters could make their own bits, and we send it in to someone who can make videos.
Then we can show the worldwide Imperial movement. Then maybe beat up the guys who were in Trekkies.

Just what I thought...they want to "apologize" now for making Trekkies "look bad", so they are going to go out of their way to find "normal" ones to show that the original "Trekkies" was skewed to show only the extreme eccentrics. Yeah, right...evilcat4000 wrote:You could contact the guys who made "Trekkies". They are making the sequel now and I think it would be a great idea if we contact them. A very good point. The star wars vs star trek community is truly global, covering people from all walks of life. A documentary will need to reflect that.I think we need to make our own, various cities of sd.netters could make their own bits, and we send it in to someone who can make videos.
Then we can show the worldwide Imperial movement. Then maybe beat up the guys who were in Trekkies.
By having people make their own footage for their specific towns or countries and later editing it togather a good documentary could be produced. The big question is who will air it ? I think discovery channel would be interested if someone actualy talks to them.
I agree with you. But on the other hand having someone professional doing the work can produce better results than amateurs like us. Professionals need to be paid though so this may not be viable.Just what I thought...they want to "apologize" now for making Trekkies "look bad", so they are going to go out of their way to find "normal" ones to show that the original "Trekkies" was skewed to show only the extreme eccentrics. Yeah, right...

I think both sides need to be given fair amount of coverage. If it is totaly onesided it won't be good. There perhaps needs to be a part called "The Infamous Darkstar" mebbe
