Clearly someone has workede long and hard on this so, ignoring the nemesis script, what do you all think of it? With regards to other trek ships.

I like the old one better but depending on the size of this one it could help fill out the Romulan fleet so all their ships aren't either Warbirds or scout ships.

This pic got posted to SB and a some of the 3D scifi boards back in aug/sept. It was slagged from all sides. I can't recall what the SB population objected to but the 3D people slagged the image seven ways to sunday...

I like it better then the old Warbird, but I've never like the warbird. It looks like it should be a new Kilngon BOP though. You know, now that I think of it, the BOP is the only Trek ship I've thought looked kindda cool. eh.

What a piece of junk!

Trek has only ever had 2 good looking bad-guy starships; The original Klingon D-7 warbird, and TNG Romulan Warbird.

Look at it, it looks like a frickin scaled up Klingon BoP.
Obviously, it is not only the writers in Trek who lack imagination.

True, but remember that the Klingon D-7 type battlecruiser is meant to be it's ancestor. It has a root ancestor in common with the BoP.
Personally I quite like it. It is a hell of a lot better than the fed ships, and the borg as well.

What I want to know is, where, within the hiarachy of Trek ships, will the new Romulan ships, and the Reman ship, fit in?

Yes, it's a cool-looking intimidating ship, which I hope they keep around for a while.

Not as neat as the old one, but a worthy successor.

Well, let's see

1. It is blatantly obvious CGI
2. It is unoriginal
3. It does not fill any gaps in the Romulan starfleet

I've seen dozens of better models of real and conjectural ST ships by amateur modellers on the internet. There is no excuse for this pathetic piece of scrap.

The Acclamators look better done though.

It doesn't, actually.
It just looks like a big ass BoP, but it doesn't fit in with the Romulan fleet.
Furthermore, why would the Romulans design a new capship to look like a ship widely associated with their blood enemies?
I don't care if the Roms originally designed BoPs, it belongs with the Klingons now and anybody who thinks of a BoP thinks of Klingons.
3. It replaces the old one. is the valdore
I think that's the point. It's just a new Warbird, we have yet to see anything between a Rommie Warbird and a scoutship.

Yes, this annoys me, the Romulans are the only halfway competent Species in trek. They play on them too little.
The capship is a descendent of Klingon D-7 cruser tech exchanged for the secrets of cloaking tech. Hence the similarity. Still you have a point.

My two favorite fan designed romulan ships. Unfortunately they are both far larger than the D'deridex... Prehaps I should do a destroyer?

Its a new design, which is good. The image quality isn't so great, and the design isn't perfect, but at least the Romulans have more than one class of capital ship.

"It is blatantly obvious CGI"

You can't tell yet how realistic-looking it is. That pic is not even from the finished movie, I suppose. Besides, CGI always looks better in motion. Wait 'till you see the movie first. In my opinion any sci-fi movies which use models instead of CGI look more realistic. Too bad we won't be probably seeing model ships anymore.
