Care to take a guess as to what that red thing is on the top of the rifle?

Still doesn't work but I found it on my own.

Looks like they finally got some accual crosshairs on the Phaser Rifle. And a dildo/scilencer attatchment on the end.

That is the same tip to the phaser rifle as we saw on half of them in First Contact and all of them in Insurrection. That is the Type-3b except its got a new light/targeting attachment on the top.

Wrong? Seems correct to me for a right handed hold. Sure its to low to actually see through the site, but thats a common movie problem.

Scratch that, look at pic 223, thats way to small, looks like they just put the flip up panel in a plastic casing.

Actually it looks very similar in size to modern holographic sites.

Pic 214, better shot it, looks like there is just one panel in there, like the flip up.

Look at his grip on the barrel,
3 on plus 1 finger poking the Barrel? Is there a freken button there or somthing?

And note the Flip-up Pannel Targeting Cursior thing is titled UP

Considering the Eleviated Position the Spherical nature of the Top of the Rifle and the strait firing of Phasers in general its as complety useless for targeting as a 3 Foot Sized Giant Red 0 at the end of the barrel

Yes, one pannel, but this sight obviously is not a flip up one. Today they already make holographic sites with a single "pannel" that you look through.

Well people having the correct weapon grips in movies is always a problem. And as for the site itself, its only a prop and they aren't super accurate. Hell, if you looked closely at some of the tricorders the buttons are crooked even.

i feel like an idiot saying this, but i want the bad guys costume, although with similarly styled cargo pants instead of those frikin' tights.
It is not well for one to trifle in the affairs of the ancient Chinese generals, for they have a tendency to send armies of tens of thousands of warriors after those who challenge them.

It has to be the lighting. He looks about 15 years older than he did in FC.

The sight appears to be designed poorly, but I have no doubt that it is reasonably effective, with training. Riker's grip is extremely poor, but his incompetence has already been demonstrated. I think that we should concern ourselves more with the capabilities of the sight itself, rather than those of the user of the weapon.

Riker has demonstrated incopetence? Maybe it is because of his old age. Personally, they all look like they are showing their age...BADLY. It is a shame they never gathered those metaphasic (?) particles in Insurrection. Good god man, have you all seen Gates McFadden lately?

I wonder if this isn't why they had that two-part ep. where Data's head got separated from his body and buried for 500 years. It allows them to explain why an android who supposedly doesn't age looks older than he used to.
