Select a SW vs ST scenario ;)

Post by Lord Zentei »

Here are four scenarios for battles in a Star Wars versus Star Trek matchup. Only the resources and conditions shown below count, technologies and gimmicks not mentioned are irrelevant. Select the scenario you would most like to see based on either how interesting and/or amusing you would find it. Note: the background data may suggest that the resources of contestants should be somewhat different in some cases. Too bad. The data shown is what applies.

===============================================

*** SCENARIO 1: ATTACK ON STARBASE ***

This is a fight to the finish. Only when one side is destroyed completely will the battle end. Both sides have full intel on the others capabilities, and the Feds know the Warsies are comin'.

On the Star Wars side:

* One Millennium Falcon
piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca.

* Seven X-Wing fighters, including:
One piloted by Luke Skywalker (ANH level of force).
One piloted by Wedge Antilles.
One piloted by Biggs Darklighter.

* Seven Y-Wing fighters.

* Seven A-Wing fighters.

* Seven B-Wing fighters.

On the Star Trek side:

* One Starbase.

* Eight Galaxy class ships.

* Eight Exelsior class ships.

* Twelve Miranda class ships.

*** SCENARIO 2: ASSAULT ON JABBA'S PALACE ***

The Federation troops must storm Jabba's palace and capture Jabba the Hutt. The Bounty hunters do not know that the Feds are coming, though both sides have full intel on the others capabilities. Due to some Plot Device (TM) or other, the Feds cannot beam down inside the palace, they must deploy a hundred meters away from it but may do so in a direction of their choice, and at a time of day of their choice. Once they have captured Jabba the Plot Device (TM) is no longer in effect and they can beam to safety. It is assumed that the palace is not shielded.

On the Star Wars side:

* Jabba the Hutt and Salacious Crumb.

* Boba Fett and IG-88 both with full wargear.

* Bib Fortuna armed with staff.

* Forty Gammorean Guards armed with axes.

* Eighty Goons armed with blaster pistols.

* Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band armed with bad music.

* Half dozen thermal detonators which Jabba can allocate to his Goons as he sees fit.

* Half a dozen tripod blaster cannons which Jabba can allocate to his Goons as he sees fit.

On the Star Trek side:

* Picard, Riker and Wesley Crusher armed with phasers.

* Data arned with a phaser and tricorder.

* Worf armed with phaser, missile launcher and Bat'leth.

* Fifty security personel armed with phasers, five with tricorders.

* Fifty Federation troops armed with phaser rifles, five with tricorders.

* Twenty Federation troops armed with phasers and missile launchers.

* All have grappling hooks.

*** SCENARIO 3: BATTLE IN THE JUNGLE ***

A Klingon base is deployed on the Third Moon of Endor with a sizable force of Klingons. They realize that the Ewoks have stolen a crucial piece of kit from one of their outposts. The Klingons have only scant intel on the Ewoks' capabilities before the battle begins, though the Ewoks have seen the Klingons in action and have "home ground" advantage. The Klingons must fight their way to the Ewok village, across 20km of jungle. The numbers of booby traps indicates those in the Klingons' path.

On the Star Wars side:

* Eighty Ewok warriors armed with spears.

* Eighty Ewok warriors armed with bows.

* One Ewok hang glider.

* Twenty Ewok 10' diameter spiky pit booby traps.

* Ten Ewok 30' wide avalanche booby traps.

* Twenty Ewok 5' diameter "bear trap" booby traps.

On the Star Trek side:

* One hundred and twenty Klingon warriors armed with phasers and bat'leth, twelve with tricorders.

*** SCENARIO 4: The Pit ***

On the Star Wars side:

* One Rancor armed with teeth and claws.

On the Star Trek side:

* Wesley Crusher armed with bat'leth.

To make things more equitable we'll have Worf give Wes some impromptu bat'leth lessons before the fight begins. And no sissy beam me up tricks: this is boyo a monstro to the finish. Neither has intel on the other's nature or capabilities before the battle begins.

===============================================

You may feel that some of the fights above are not entirely evenly matched. Well, that's too bad. All's fair in love and war, as the saying goes. :twisted:

What do you mean?
Enforcer Talen wrote:no 2, boba fett and ig 88 vs redshirts? what kind of grudge are you carrying?
I'm also thinking that even random guards with the tri-mountblaster cannons, set to light-rapid, would be devastating. I don't think the thermal detonators would be very useful... unless captured by the Feddies.

Probably the Feddies would save Data for an end run, use everyone else as distractions to attract the Gammoreans. Then they'd give ground for time, hoping for a last-second beam-out.

Chances? not great, since Boba Fett would probably stick around as a last layer of defense. Short of an overwhelming hail of fire to drive him away, I don't see the Feddies getting past him.
Enforcer Talen wrote:no 3, possible interesting. catapults vs phasers. . .
Oh, the Ewoks would totally decimate the Klingons. Those traps would wipe them out en masse, and only when they had gained a numeric advantage of about 3:1 would the Ewoks finally become visible, and then they would pop out of the bushes and poke out the Klingons' knees.

1: Attack on a Starbase? Well, it's a toss-up. Either the fighters completely wipe out all the defenders and run out of missles for the starbase, or the fighters unload on the starbase, but have to run from the defenders (unless their lasers can do it?). Either way, it wouldn't be too amusing.

2: Jabba does not have the resources of the Empire, so it would be a more fair fight. IG-88 and Boba Fett would, of course, make mincemeat out of the feds, but the Gammoreans would simply get slaughtered when they run up with axes (wait- Redshirts get killed by Klingons- nevermind). The Feds would have numbers, so it'd be amusing and a fair fight (1000 Redshirts vs Boba Fett and a hundred overgrown pigs).

3: War in the Jungle? This would be pathetic. Klingons have NO tactics. Ewoks do (surround the enemy, pelt him with arrows, use long range weaponry). The Ewoks would be at home in the jungle and make use of everything they can, while the Klingons run around swinging wildly with Bat'leths. And we know they'd never use the phasers.

4: Oooh. Great one. But the rancor will start crying and kill himself when Wesley starts talking.

I'd go with 2.

scenario 1:Well the figther have kT level weapons (AOTC:ICS) and Proton torpedos and concussion missiles and some are desinged to finish of unshielded SW capships (Y- and B-wings). even those number the fed lose so badly that it's not even funny (if had TIE instead rebel ships fed might had hope.)

scenario 2:feds probaly have no hope what so ever.

scenario 3: Kligon might even if they realise to use their disruptor pistols (I assume meant those when you said phasers).

scenario 4:I hate Wesley too, but not this badly.

I should point out that the biggest problem here is that the fighters can run out of missles. Since their lasers can't affect the starbase much, they'd likely pore the majority of their missles into the base and destroy it in the opening moments of the battle, but then they'd have to fight the defenders of the nonexistant base with only laser cannons.

Grudge, moi? :) The Feds have the element of surprise, several characters (though arguably not on the level of Bobal Fett), 120 redshirts (more always helps) and 21 missile launchers (like the one in Insurrection). They can attack at any time of day of their choosing, i.e. when most of the Goons are asleep, and they have grappling hooks. They don't need to wipe everyone out, just capture Jabba.

Yeah, well. After I posted, I figured that this might be a bit one-sided. I had in mind Mike Wong's comparisson of the Slave-1 versus the Enterprise-E on the main site, and reckoned that a) the Millennium Falcon would be similar to the Slave-1 b) The Millennium Falcon would be closer to the Starbase and c) the one-seater Fighters might be more equitable against ST capships. Perhaps I should have left out the A-wings and the B-wings.

No resources not mentioned in the OP may be used.

Oh, damn "full wargear" bay be a bit broad. I meant all his personal weapons, jetpack and mandalorian armour, obviously.

It's a sticky almost right on top of the page:

Here, as a matter, of fact.

But none of these scenarios are even remotely amusing. Except maybe number three, though it is a credit to the Ewoks that they managed to just survive against stormtroopers long enough for Chewie to capture that AT-ST. Against Klingons with patently inferior weapons and HtH tactics, this scenario could get bloody for both sides before being over and done with.

Jabba's palace easy. We've never seen Boba kick lots of ass in the movies and that decides it for me. I want to see the Fett man dominate the field of battle.

Those can't be called missile launchers by any stretch of the imagination. That thing barely had the firpower of a modern grenade. Actually a modern grenade would have killed all the troops Worf fired at. All the Isomagnetic Disintegrator did was toss them around.

As amusing as it would be seeing a rancor and wesly slugging it out, if you could even call that a fight, I would have to say the assult on jabba's palace. It would be a very interesting and one sided fight, because come on BOBBA FETT AND IG-88 vs. picard and crew and a buch of redshirts! Thats overkill right there, but it would be very entertianing seening fett fry up a couple dozen redshirts while IG-88 rips worf's arms off :twisted:

Dunno, some people may find Deanna Troi quite attractive though... Mind you, I didn't talk about *THAT* other Troi.

On the second thought, put Lwaxanna Troi in The Pit with Jabba the Hutt, and now we'll get a really interesting match-up!! Finding out who'll get the first orgasm could be interesting, y'know!
