All depends on who they meet first. A decent group would open trade, a more unsavory would see new planets of resources to exploit and conquer.

even the littlest pirate group would be carving up a dozen worlds of the feds.

We'd need a pretty huge-ass time before AOTC to have any major effect on any possible match-up. If I understand correctly, SW has been in relative technological stasis for several centuries, and had more advanced tech than TNG Trek for tens of millennia!starcraft wrote:25 years before attack of the clones

And that just shows how much I read.DaveJB wrote:Techno_Union wrote:What time period for the OR?starcraft wrote:25 years before attack of the clones
Basically... the Hutts, Corellians, Kuatis, and the CS (if they're around) would be able to wreak havoc on the Federation if they ever wanted to... which is doubtful. We'd need a pretty huge-ass time before AOTC to have any major effect on any possible match-up. It would be funny it Kuat took over the Federation and just incorporated them has a state like entity.

Millenia, actually. The differences between KOTOR and the NR era are relatively minor.DaveJB wrote:If I understand correctly, SW has been in relative technological stasis for several centuries

An amusing possibility the mandalorians rather than die out slowly till ATOC and there abouts set up shop in the AQ. The have the skills resources and will to empire build now what would Picard be like after all that .....

You mean apart from the way their idea of massive planetary bombardment leaves people alive afterwards?YT300000 wrote:Millenia, actually. Massive planetary bombardment on a heavily built-up planet using a ship which, due to its design appears to be primarily used as a carrier/command ship, not to mention being a fraction the size of an ISD, is hardly a good comparison to a BDZ.GeneralTacticus wrote:You mean apart from the way their idea of massive planetary bombardment leaves people alive afterwards?YT300000 wrote:Millenia, actually. I was actually referring to Carth's homeworld of Telos; it was attacked by a Sith fleet of unspecified size, but even if we assume only five or six ships, the fact that were still people around for the Republic to give medical aid to indicates that it wasn't anywhere near the scale of a BDZ, thus indicating firepower far below ISD level.

True. At any rate, a single Leviathan-class could do a huge amount of damage to the Star Trek galaxy, so my statement of the differences being relatively minor still stands. Of course, I should have specified that that was relative to ST, but since that is the scenario in question, it hardly makes a difference.GeneralTacticus wrote:I was actually referring to Carth's homeworld of Telos; it was attacked by a Sith fleet of unspecified size, but even if we assume only five or six ships, the fact that were still people around for the Republic to give medical aid to indicates that it wasn't anywhere near the scale of a BDZ, thus indicating firepower far below ISD level.

I think the Leviathan's weapons are calc'ed at anywhere from low-high MT range (from the explosions when it bombards Taris).
That, combined with it's utterly insane fire rate would spell doom for almost any ST ship or small fleet
