Mike Wong assimilated by the Borg...
In some incredible and horrible(or perhaps humorous depending on your view :p) fluke, Mike Wong is transported to the Star Trek universe and promply assimilated by the Borg. When this happens, the Borg become aware of a wormhole connecting the Star Trek and Star Wars universes...thanks to the knowledge provided by Mr Wong. The Empire doesn't know of this wormhole, but the Borg do.
So, will Mike Wong's knowledge of the Empire in any way assist the Borg assimilating or destroying the Empire? Will his knowledge make them close the wormhole, take time and build up their forces? How does his knowledge affect their actions?

The borg do the following:
1. Destroy the wormhole (after all, the Empire will find it eventually)
2. Reorganize themselves so that individual drones have initiative.
3. Attack the Federation with more than one cube.
4. Hunt down and destroy Voyager.
5. Learn to integrate technology effectively, instead of in the current inefficient system where everything looks like a collection of spare parts.
6. Get a new ship design. This design will resemble an ISD.
7. Begin doing their own research. This will be directed to replicating SW technology.
8. Conquer the universe.
9. Begin having anal sex on a regular basis.

Even if Mike Wong's knowledge of the Empire made its way into the hands of the Borg, it would make no difference. The best it could possibly do is make the Borg realize that they were totally screwed if they tried to combat an Imperial fleet, and would make them avoid conflict.
I find it more likely, however, that Darth Wong's knowledge would make the Borg realize that their existence was illogical, and shut them all down.

Since part of the reason for the Borg's existence is to increase their knowledge and technology, Wong's knowledge would indeed assist them in battling the Empire.
Look, I have no bias here... I like the Empire and the Borg, but if the Empire were to hand all of their technical schematics over you could bet that they (the Borg) would use them and react accordingly. I’m not saying that they Borg would be victorious; I am just saying that they would use them to adapt and to make any necessary changes to their weaponry.

That assumes Mike knows how to build SW level weapons. It's one thing to know how something works, but it's another thing to build it.

Wong doesn't know how to build SW style weapons, ships, shields, or engines. He only knows WHAT they do, and not HOW they do it. He has admitted to such on numerous occasions (not that it wasn't blatantly obvious). Thus, he could only tell the Borg what the Empire could do, but could not teach them how to dubplicate the feat.bozman wrote:Since part of the reason for the Borg's existence is to increase their knowledge and technology, Wong's knowledge would indeed assist them in battling the Empire.

Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that whenever someone claims that they are not biased they invariably follow up that statement immediately with some ridiculously stupid (if, allegedly, unbiased) statement?

Master, how old are you? 12? 13? What is with the smartass remarks? I couldn't personally care less what you think my comments are; but fuck, why insult me?
I have seen a few of your comments and it seems like you have a problem with insulting people whenever they ACKNOWLEDGE Star Trek. I am with you when it comes to Voyager, but if you want to insult me, fuck you.

Personally, I suspect Mike Wong has sufficent knowledge to assist the Borg in specific and significant regards, such a learning enemy firepower capabilities, numerical strength, etc. I'm not saying he would make them win, but his knowledge, once gathered, would influence how the Collective would approach their objective of assimilating or destroying the Empire. I believe Mike Wong even possesses significant knowledge about the effectiveness of Storm Trooper armor, indicating he does have insights on small details as well.
I suspect that overall that Mr. Wong would provide a fairly detailed picture of the enemy the Borg have just become aware of. The question I propose is just how much this would help the Borg in their goals. Would they begin a massive buildup campaign? Start small scale, assimilating a few insignificant planets first?(actually, they do that already, ref ST:TNG "The Neutral Zone")...

Given that the Borg have the tactical capabilities of a fruit fly...I mean let's say they did...what would it do with Wong's knowledge aside from it telling them 200GT+ cannons on some very nasty ships that resist over a thousand of them doing broadsides on a single craft...I mean they would have to literally pop and pray the Imps do not consider them such a threat they decide to exterminate them as vermin.
He has the knowledge of what the effects are, but no idea of power system(he knows what is needed...but I mean so could Da Vinci if you told this much is used up by a car...won't inform him of how such a thing is done, but he'll tell how much energy is needed).
Thus they'll have ideas of firepower and speed, but no idea of how any of it is accomplished and worse still...they don't have the tech to do such.

It would give the Borg the knowledge that there is this powerful group with some impressive technology.
The Borg would then either avoid them as much as possible or the temptation of so much incredible technology would be too much and they would do their usual routine and get beaten down.

Against the Empire? That's just unfair. Giving someone a gun and then sending them against the entire Russian Army circa WWII, as it were.
In any case, we have two realistic possibilities.. One, Mike is assimilated properly and his impressive knowledge augments the Borg database.. But doesn't change their tactics. That is their biggest problem, so nothing new changes.
However, if strong personalities can overcome assimilation, he may very well become a Borg King, or a Locotus type. In such a situation, every species which can't match the Borg's firepower is fucked. Anally, specifically.

In case you didn't notice, it was your own *unsupported* claim which invited such "smartass remarks". Why? Let's see.bozman wrote:Master, how old are you? 12? 13? What is with the smartass remarks? I couldn't personally care less what you think my comments are; but fuck, why insult me?

Yeah. Right. I have no bias either. So if the US Army were to hand all of their technical schematics to the Roman soldiers, OF COURSE the Romans would use them and react accordingly. I am not saying that the Romans would be victorious; I am just saying that they would use them to adapt and to make any necessary changes to their weaponry... yeah... yeah... such things SURELY will happen... duh... Do I sound stupid? Get the point, now?bozman wrote: Look, I have no bias here... Hey moron, if you sat the Romans down and explained to them what they were up against, then they would probably make a big effort to stay away from the US Army. But we are not talking about Romans or the US Army. The Romans are not the Borg.
I did not start the insult contest with Master. He decided that it would be fun to point out that he thinks I am stupid. Fuck him.
By the way, I happen to like the Empire much more than I like the Borg. So I guess that my bias would be in favor of the Empire, right?

Precisely. If they decide to "adapt and to make any necessary changes to their weaponry" against an enemy who GREATLY outguns and outclasses them, they will be TOASTED.bozman wrote:Hey moron, if you sat the Romans down and explained to them what they were up against, then they would probably make a big effort to stay away from the US Army.
Oh, how stupid I am. OF COURSE the Borg will "adapt and to make any necessary changes to their weaponry" against the Empire... duh... how can't I even think about it? ::trying hard not to burst into laughter::bozman wrote: But we are not talking about Romans or the US Army. Now, PLEASE ENLIGHTEN US how such attempt will save their collective asses from an enemy with 200 GIGATON of firepower? Oh, no. You can't explain that, can you? I see. Yet Another Unsupported Claim. Thank you, drive through.
Yes. You merely started a post with "Hey moron" and inserted "Fuck him" in the middle. Makes you feel better, eh?bozman wrote: I did not start the insult contest with Master. He decided that it would be fun to point out that he thinks I am stupid. Fuck him.
No excuse. An unsupported claim is an unsupported claim. Period.bozman wrote: By the way, I happen to like the Empire much more than I like the Borg. So I guess that my bias would be in favor of the Empire, right?
BTW, bozman, I think everyone on the board can see that MoO insulted you because of your unsupported and ridiculous claim. You, on the other hand, merely flames anyone who criticize or disagree with you. So here's an advice: if you keep contribute nothing else beside unsupported claims and flames to anyone disagree with you, you better shut the fuck up.
(sorry, Shadow WarChief. I just borrowed your pic.)
Why didn't you just sign up as 'Arrogant Flamer' and be done with it? How the hell do you get along with other human beings without making them want to disect you with blunt carving knives? There have been, to my knowledge, 2 incidents within the past 10 days where you have flamed people for doing nothing wrong at all.bozman wrote:Hey moron, if you sat the Romans down and explained to them what they were up against, then they would probably make a big effort to stay away from the US Army. You call me arrogant? That is funny. When I started in here, I merely posted an opinion as to what I would think could happen. Ok, I did not give evidence to support my claim but does that give Master the right to call me stupid? I did not start this one, it started when I didn't post exactly what Master thought that I should say in the way that he wanted it. So then he called me "stupid." I would say that comment marked the beginning of this flame war.
Of course when I retaliated, the rest of the "never talk negatively about Star Wars" gang jumped all over me. Funny shit. Anyone near Sacramento? I would love to settle this.
