Proposal: Diane Daune & SFB>Berman & Bragga
Just because her writting was more consistnat & intellegent then anything else produced by Trek since TNG started.
And Star Fleet Battles has at least some consistancy & ballence unlike real trek.
Yes, I know this is in violation of just about every rule,
It makes more sense and I am very sleepy, and ticked off at the main franchise anyways.

The two guys who live under the museum in the nearest town to me > B&B.
Its got to the point now where not only are fans crying for the beaten and bloodied corpse's of B&B but critics with little knowledge can pinpoint the problem.
When will the idiots at paramount learn, probably the same time as the other network execs, about 5 minutes after the earth plunges into the sun.

I play SFB. I love Diane Duanes Romulans.
Heck, I even tried for a vs. SFB/SW setup, but they ended up too apples v oranges to have an interesiting tactical engagement.
But, yes, for all that hes a cranky SOB, SVC has an excellent sense of whats interesting, and whats internally consistent. Would have bene a very different universe if the ideas from SFB had been in some way used to fertilize TNG.

The fun thing about SFB, is that if something can conceivably be used as a weapon, it CAN be. =)
"Captain, I'm reading transporter activity from the unknown ship, but our shields are still up."
"That's odd. Number One, what --" *FOOOM!* "What the HELL was that?!"
"Hail from the unknown ship, Captain!"
"It's called a T-bomb, you piker! What, don't tell me you guys never thought of that idea?!"

The Jedi asked, "What is balance for me as a servant of the Light?" The Master replied,"Balance is not what you seek. For you it is accepting that destruction is a part of the universe."

B&B need to tap SVC for some *real* battle sequences...Marcus wrote:I play SFB. I love Diane Duanes Romulans.

Depends on what you call 'real.' For gritty, hard-hitting scenes that evoke images of 'Midway' and 'The Sands of Iwo Jima' and 'Victory at Sea' and other early-color movies depicting WW2, then, oh me oh my yes, SVC would trounce B&B seven ways to sunday. If you want something dramatic and pulse-pounding, something evoking thousands-of-kilometers-per-second speeds and 'dogfighting battleships', then SFB might not be the best thing to base combats off of.
Though, to be honest, if a thing is a battleship, it darn well should MOVE like a battleship on-screen. Even if it's going at an appreciable fraction of the speed of light, it should LOOK slow and ponderous! So, my money would be on SVC and SPP scripting a space battle that would be well worth watching.
