Data vs. IG-88

i don't know if somone's done this thread already (Havent read all posts yet) but if no one has who do you think would win if data fought IG-88 on open terrain whith equal knowledge of the other's abilities?

Given that IG-88 has among other things a built in concussion missile launcher, Data is dead in about three seconds. Any other terrain will simply mean it takes slightly longer before IG-88 blasts Data.

i agree and since there is no canon evidence regarding IG-88's abilities we must refer to the "book tales of the bounty hunters" which states that ig-88 has a concussion grenade launcher in his side and can rip a durasteel door of it's hinges and hurl it ten feet whith minimal effort and is intelegent enough to calculate the trajectory of an incoming blaster bolt before it hits

IG-88 is likely better at fighting. Data was designed with different specifications in mind. His combat abilities are a testament to his creator's ability, but he simply is not as well built for combat as IG-88. A more interesting debate is the results of Data vs. Guri, or some other human-replicant droid.

They did. They've done this one, too, albeit in a slightly different format.

sorry didn't really have time to read all the posts yet did they do 30 klingons whith bat'leth's vs. 30 yuhzaan vong warriors whith amphistaffs on open ground?

I don't think so. Try it. The YV are a very controversial subject here, with some posters convinced that they would stand a chance at harming the Empire, and others convinced that the UFP could defeat them without serious difficulty. It would be an interesting debate, if nothing else.

Sure, if you have DarkStar's wall of ignorance its contest between Trek and YV.

I'm sure phasers and transporters will find a "crack" in the event horizons of YV shielding voids or something.
