I watched St: Nemesis with him... Then he started saying how that ship could beat anything SW could throw at it.

He said stuff like that warp is faster than hyperdrive, ST weapons are stronger than SW ones, and that the Borg could adapt to turbolasers. I'm going to send him the link here, and hopefully enlighen him...

It happens...I suppose because on current ST, it's shinier and the technobabble is more omnipresent.

Still I wonder how they do debate when the DS enter their space, they are supposed to defend against that.

Believe me I debated that one with some guys at a comic con(then again they think Trek was more real because it obviously follows science)...though they never got around when I gave them that the Borg never adapted to the 8472 Superlaser...seriously that small thing shuts them up at time with no need of any cold hard calcs.

Though there are some who have brains of gnats and even when you bring any calcs...pretty much go into the Feds will win because of the whole Laser BS

I live in an area where all that is Science Fiction, and Fantasy does not exist, It's bad to the point where you mention ST and people go "What is that?" And Also, if you mention SW people go "Oh yeah, I saw that awhile back...what was it about again?" And three days after TTT was released I went to see it with some friends, The theater was about, 1/2 to 2/3 full, I'm leaning more towards 1/2.

As for finding out a Trekkie was your friend...it's annoying when they spew out things like Lasers won't work and they say they get their material from GK's site. I have a friend like that at school....can't wait to lay the smacketh down on him when we see one another again..

1. Was he being serious... or, knowing you were a dedicated Warsie, was just yanking your chain for fun?

2. Give him a chance to adequately explore the evidence in SW's favor first, and then see if he still thinks ST has better equipment. It's possible he's a Trekker, and not a Trekkie...

*sigh* He's a Trekkie, then. If you've had these discussions quite often, the best thing to do is simply not debate them with him. If he refuses to pull down the Wall of Blatantly Ignoring Evidence, let him sit behind it by himself.

Like the regular stormtrooper carbines did to the Tantive IV in the beginning of ANH? Or how the blasters would blow chunks out of nearby walls in all of the original trilogy movies? And that's all without resorting to their larger rifles, let alone that monster tripod gun from TESB...
