Colour of the Deflectors...

Post by Warspite »

Is there any particular reason for the colour of the deflectors on Starfleet straships? Or is just a coolness factor?

For example, the Enterprise:

E-nil - Red (although it looked more like a sat dish then anything else...)
E-Refit and A - Blue
E-B - Blue
E-C - Blue (?)
E-D - Blue
E-E - Red (orange-ish)

Would there be any reason for the change in colours?

Thougts?

Well sometimes it appears that the shield takes the color of whatever color the beam is that is hitting it. Other times its blue. Chalk it to inconsitency.

Sorry, but I meant the deflector dish, and not the shields.

But yeah, those also are strange stuff, artistically liberal, perhaps?

I wouldn't say the E-E has a red dish... more like bright yellow.

And I think it's a purely aesthetic choice made by the production people.
