Well to trump the run-of-the-mill bible-thumpers who don't want gays to get married or serve in the Navy, Fred Phelps started heckling the funerals of famous AIDS patients, homosexuals and political figures -including Clinton's mother as well as bashing 9-11 victims. On the Stern show, they sang a song gloating over the 9-11 attacks, calling them God's divine retribution against "Fag America". Even the freaks and weirdos were offended by these scumbags.

It's just a vulgar scam to make money for people who don't want to work for a living.

If I recall correctly, Westboro Baptist got its tax exempt status revoked. From what I understand of Fred Phelps, he's a narcicistic psychopath, in the clinical sense of both terms.

Not sure about Robertson, but he called Falwell a "fat ugly sodomite." As we all know, Phelps has a keen eye when it comes to the male form's beauty.

IIRC Falwell started it by claiming Phelps was a "first class nut."

He probably does think God hates everyone but him, or anyone as demented as he is and proud to express it. Which I think leaves about three people outside his family.

Actually 2 of his sons have disowned him and referred to his abusive nature in their home, the guy really is a nasty piece of work, I think he sees "God hates [insert anything here]" as a means to an end, the end being publicity, it's that which he prizes over all else. He's an empty, insane broken little man, who can only interface with the world by attacking everything in it.

No, I'm wondering about the specifics as to why Ronald Reagan is hated by Phelps. Listing the generic "why the government is hated by god" stuff doesn't work unless it was stated that Reagan started it all, or something.

I’ve read them a few times now and I’m still a little unsure what the hell he’s blithering on about – is it just me or is point 3 effectively “men like Reagan, therefore Reagan is going to hell”? If that’s true I reckon Phelps is going straight to heaven because there can be few less honoured people than him.
