This is what Clinton said today at his portrait unveiling ceremony in response to Bush's surprisingly tasteful remarks. Some of you may have caught it on the Daily Show.

Like Jon Stewart, I really didn't understand what he was talking about here. Anyone got any guesses?

I suppose it would make more sense with a comma?

Pickle just being the whole, I dunno, pins and needles or prickley or whatever sensation you get. Goosebumps, chills, whatever.

*shrug* Just my guess.

He probably meant preserved like a pickle after having been immortalized in his portrait. Something like that.

Or he meant he felt he was (in a) pickle, stepping into history like this.

He probably meant that he's being preserved in history. See, he was being clever but you have to think about it a little.
