Campains in Northern Ireland generally revolve arround the issue of "Keep the Hun/Fennian out of office, vote for me" When i worked in politics it scared me how each party had little or no party position on anything. 3 different MLA's from the same party will telly you 3 different positions on a situation and swear that they're speaking party policy.

Ahhhh........the Chicaco method.
