Well, gas prices seem to vary based on how things are going in the Middle East these days, and so does Bush's approval rating. So maybe they are somewhat correlated.

You'll notice that there was no correlation to speak of before 9/11/2001.

Hmm. Interesting. We'll have to see how things play out, but I doubt that Bush's approvals, as much as I dislike the man, is tied solely to this. There are other factors (Iraq, domestic issues, etc.)

Gas prices are currently going up. This makes me wonder for a moment if the "VP bounce" is really just a "dammit it costs too much to fill my tank" bounce.
