Kerry's natural gifts

Post by Stravo »

I'm starting to hear this from Fox and others who have a vested interest in putting a positive spin on Bush's performance. "Kerry is jus naturally gifted. He's glib. He's articulate."

Bush on the other hand is "Being himself" has a little trouble expressing himself (A little?!) and is more of a down to earth character who is not a "College professor type"

Sean Hannity had a laugh outloud additon to this shitty spin: "You know Kerry was in the Yale debate club, they spent a lot of time honing their skills and debating both sides of the issue." Godamn it Sean you are always a laugh riot. If I ever need to know just how absurd the other side can be I just listen to you for a few minutes.

So to what depths are they willing to say "Down to earth." "being himself" "plain spoken" instead of the obvious "Inarticulate." "Dumb"
Wherever you go, there you are.

From the Bush side, you'll hear that 'Bush did well, all things considered'

Which means that they expected him to tank. That said, just because Bushy did bad doesn't automatically mean Kerry was shining.

Fromt the Kerry side, you'll hear that Kerry curbstomped Bush. Which isn't exactly what happened either.

Kerry pretty much summed up the point that he's 'not bush' and Bush pretty much summed up that he's 'not really into in depth discussions above "strenght and security.".

They both suck.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

It wasn't so much that Kerry was great (you should have seen him against William Weld in 1996). Bush was bad to begin with and absolutely choked. To use a football analogy, Kerry was a QB who played a solid game and won decisively. Nothing spectacular, but no big mistakes or turnovers, either. Bush on the other hand was a QB who kept getting under the guard to take the snap.

If I wanted to hear Sean Insanity's opinion, I'd ask the RNC to give it to him.

sadly they don´t tell us what´s wrong with being naturally gifted.
i´d rather have a naturally gifted person as president than someone who´s not gifted at all.
Bush on the other hand is "Being himself"
on the other hand i can see what´s wrong with that. he´s an idiot. being himself is not a good characteristic if himself is bush.
has a little trouble expressing himself (A little?!) and is more of a down to earth character who is not a "College professor type"
fox news says that education is a negative characteristic. interresting.

Of course. Educated people are more likely to analyze and judge than to swallow their bullshit at face value.

If Kerry is just naturally talented at being articulate, isn't he also being himself? His natural self being articulate and glib.

So they're both being themselves and Bush just sounds like an idiot.
