Bush, he seemed to think that Bilateral talks in the NK situation gave the US more leverage since we can more easily control such a situation. Obviously he failed to grasp the purpose behind multilateral talks in the first place.White Cat wrote:Which one said this?WTS: "Bilateral talks are better than multilateral talks."

You've got that backwards, dude. Kerry wants bilateral talks, while Bush refuses to talk to North Korea without the Chinese and Russians at the table. It's one of the few issues where Bush is dead right and Kerry is dead wrong. The Kernel wrote:Bush, he seemed to think that Bilateral talks in the NK situation gave the US more leverage since we can more easily control such a situation. Excuse me I mispoke, I meant that Bush wants unilateral talks while Kerry wants bilateral/multilateral talks. And actually, I would tend to agree with Kerry on this since neither China, Russia, Japan or South Korea wants NK to have nuclear weapons. I'm not that familiar with the talks but what exactly is the rational behind unilateral talks?RedImperator wrote: You've got that backwards, dude. yeah, how exactly does kerry get to that conclusion? it seems so much like a thing bush would support.RedImperator wrote: You've got that backwards, dude. You realize that everybody BUT the US is having bilateral talks with NK while the multilateral talks are going on, right?salm wrote:yeah, how exactly does kerry get to that conclusion? it seems so much like a thing bush would support.RedImperator wrote: You've got that backwards, dude.
