British Relief in place of US forces in Iraq

US has formally requested British troops to relieve a unit in order to improve the Fallujah offensive.

There is considerable rumbling back here as to the practicality of this ( a single British battlegroup), why the US can't cover it's own base, and to what extent this is political support for Gerge Bush's election campaign.
