58,000 Absentee ballots missing in Florida
Just heard this on the radio when I was driving in to work. Ballots have just gone POOF and nobody knows where they are. No posting on CNN yet, or any other news source for confirmation yet. Anyone else hear anything about this?
If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.
Correction...58,000 absentee votes. Could a mod change the title for me please? Here is a link to the story so far

Well, I think that's the idea...Elfdart wrote:It's bad enough. Trying to reprint them and get them to the voters in time for the election is going to be a bitch.

Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

And my family wonders why I didn't vote absentee

A vote which isnt counted is a vote for you since it isnt against you in the USA election system.

Just wait until the first falsified absentee ballot shows up.

It will REALLY be interestiong to know where the majority of those ballots were going. Nice white suburbia or predominately minority areas or Jewish areas.
Wherever you go, there you are.

The state is run by a guy named "Jeb", for fuck's sake. What do you expect? I'm surprised they even have flush toilets.

I don't think that would happen. Having grown up in one of the most predominantly white and Jewish parts of the state, Jeb'll have his hands full with most of the wealth of the state suing the shit out of him...Stravo wrote:It will REALLY be interestiong to know where the majority of those ballots were going. Has anyone seen that Bush rally in Jacksonville a few days ago? Bush gets up to the podium and in full Southern white trash twang says "Brother Jeb said to come on down to Jacksonville and mebe a few folks might show up." WHat the fuck is this?! Do I want my president speaking like an extra from Deliverance?! Jesus Christ as if I needed that pandering moron to make me hate him even more.

The sad thing is we were modern, back when Flagler and the other tycoons were running the place. Intercoastal Railway connecting the peninsula with Key West, biggest hotels in the nation, we were the place for the rich and famous to come to. Now, we're just a big farming, mining, and tourism state. Manufacturing's gone down the crapper, though it is starting to improve a bit. If we could get a governor dedicated to promoting high-tech industries, we could become a powerful economy again. I don't think we could quite rival California, but on a per capita basis we could be their equivalent.

I gather that the ballots were intended for Broward county, the state's largest Democratic stronghold. Color me shocked! Not really.Stravo wrote:It will REALLY be interestiong to know where the majority of those ballots were going. Nice white suburbia or predominately minority areas or Jewish areas.
I don't get the reference. I feel like I'm missing out on something really funny.Bob the Gunslinger wrote:Sure. He was the one who figured out how to chew his way out of Chinese fingercuffs.Elfdart wrote:And Jeb's supposedly the smart one!

Well, he says that Jeb is the smart one. So I followed it up by saying that he couldn't figure out Chinese finger cuffs and had to chew his way out, which is pretty damn dumb. If the smart one is pretty damn dumb, and he is the supremum (am I using the right word here? The upper limit) of Bush intelligence, then they all have to be dumber than damn dumb.Mayabird wrote:I don't get the reference. Other than that, it is not a reference to anything. Maybe Chasing Amy... but not intentionally.
