Your rise to prominence is based upon your abominably perverse desecration of our ideals; you have trivialized and demeaned the sacred and the solemn, and no amount of fluent sophistry or braggart pretense can cover it up.
Your conduct goes far beyond dereliction of duty. You betrayed your comrades in Viet Nam; you betrayed the trust of antiwar veterans, and now your self-fabricated credentials and continued lies contaminate the political process.

What's there to say? The guy has completely bought into the Swift Boat Assholes for Bullshit propaganda campaign. He has no direct knowledge of any of the events in question whatsoever, no new information to offer, nothing of value or interest. I don't even know why you bothered posting this, since it's nothing more than one guy's incoherent rantings about how bad some peoples' Purple Heart injuries are and his assumption that therefore an injury must be truly horrible to qualify for a Purple Heart (which, like it or not, is not true), followed with a lot of posturing bullshit.

Jesus this guys bitter. The thing is that there's no proof as to whether Kerry "faked" his medals or not. My understanding of the Purple Heart is that its awarded to anyone who sustains a wound in combat. That could be anything from getting a laceration from shrapnel or dying. My opinion is that Kerry got his Purple Hearts honestly. I can't comment on his medals for valour.
It's true that he only spent 4 months in a war zone. But the USA allows personnel who have three Purple Hearts to apply for transfer out of the zone. Can this guy claim that his uncle wouldn't have done the same? I sure as shit would, and I was a professional soldier not a conscript like his uncle. I'd wager that the author would have taken the out as well.
This guys an ass, plain and simple. He is simply using his uncle and his friends experiances to justify his political views. Ultimatley Kerry's actions in Vietnam as a LT are of no importance. It was 30 years ago. What matters is the here and know. Just because he served in Vietnam either honourably or dishounarably doesn't mean that he will be a good or bad President.

I believe you can apply for a Purple Heart provided you have proof of the wounds sustained. Most of the other US medals are awarded based on the recommendation of your CO.
