Bush Urges GOP in Fla. to Re-Elect Him

Post by JME2 »

Here

Normally, I would ignore something like this, excpet for a little blurb that caught my eye --
We will not rest — we will not rest, we will keep the pressure on until the Cuban people enjoy the same freedoms in Havana they receive here in America," Bush said to cries of "Viva Bush!"

Then, in a direct reference to Castro, Bush said, "I strongly believe the people of Cuba should be free from the tyrant."
Does that mean Operation: Cuban Cigar in '05?

Seriously, I'm getting tired of the rattling of the saber at Cuba and the continued embargo, even though the Cold War is long over. But of course, not if you want to get the Cuban-Americans to vote for you...

Well, there's actually some interesting articles about changing demographics in Cuba- the younger generations who didn't come here from Cuba simply don't give a fuck about Castro. Which means they're more likely to vote Democrat as time goes on. Those old Cuban exiles aren't going to be around forever- their kids might listen to them, but what about their grandkids, for exampke?

I don't think Bush is the only trolling for minority votes by promising things they can't/won't deliver to them.
