I notice that the highest levels of blue are centered around major metropolitan areas, especially New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Yeah, and check out the Mississippi River thing going on here. What's up with that? It's like, viva la resistance right in the heart of Bush country. If only there weren't those damn borders seperating Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Maybe they should cut that little section out of those three, make it another state. And give it a helmet that's +85 to electoral votes. That would be a state, lemme tell you.

LOL, actually it wouldn't be much of anything.

The main areas of those blue lines are the Mississippi Delta.. the poorest most depressing area I've even had the misfortune to travel through.

Its like the damn badlands. The areas that go into LA are swamp areas, and the Arkansas areas... well... its Arkansas....

Honestly though, I think its the high levels of poverty that exist along the riverbank to this day that cause the levels of blue counties there. Still fascinating to look at though.
