I posted about the scam Sean Insanity and Oliver North are pimping back in August.

In short, they have D-list celebrities performing "charity" concerts in which one-tenth of the ticket price goes to the Freedom Alliance, out of which maybe .04 percent is donated to pay tuition for the children of soldiers who died in Iraq.
ABC News just ran a report about how Scammity's Freedom Alliance is one of many that claims to benefit veterans or their families, yet spends a low percentage of their income doing it, earning an "F" grade from a charity watchdog group. Some have expenditures that are ridiculous, like one "charity" where the head honcho gets pays himself and his wife over half a million dollars.
News Hounds and Dave From Queens have more.
One thing I find funny is that ABC News' parent company runs Scammity's radio show and owns a number of the stations that run it. So I wonder how he's going to spin this, should a caller evade his call screeners and ask him about it.

I just checked out Brian Ross' page on ABC's website. Apparently, the guy who paid himself half a million dollars out of his charity's till has gone into hiding:

I can't wait for Hannity and North to get subpoenas for their "charity".The director of a national charity for veterans has gone into hiding after defying a congressional subpoena.
Roger Chapin, head of the California-based charity, Help Hospitalized Veterans, refused to appear today before a congressional hearing chaired by Congressman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who is investigating how the charity's money was spent.
Waxman said Chapin had evaded attempts by U.S. marshals to find him for the past week to serve a warrant to compel Chapin to answer questions before Congress about his charity, which raised more than $98 million last year.
"There have been serious allegations against Mr. Chapin, including allegations that he is paying exorbitant salaries to himself and his wife, using donations to pay for questionable expenses, such as new condos, shifting funds among his various groups to skew reporting numbers and concealing millions of dollars in payments to for-profit fundraising corporations," Waxman said.
Help Hospitalized Veterans was one of more than a dozen charities for veterans rated "F" by a leading charity watchdog group, the American Institute of Philanthropy.

Re: More on Sean Hannity's Concert Scam
He'll just hang up on them, and play the soundbite "Get off the air you big dope!!" - Standard operating procedure for Hannity when a caller lies to one of his screeners to get on the air (yeah i listen sometimes). He may also get some nameless person to kiss his @$$ on the show claiming to be a recipient of the scholarship fund....I wonder how he's going to spin this, should a caller evade [Hannity's] call screeners and ask him about it.
