That's true, but why can't the current system be an evil that isn't necessarily "fascism?" Why can't it just be a garden-variety of bourgeois creeping tyranny instead? The issue is the same as George Orwell brought up- people are tossing around words without following their actual meanings, and it's watering down the definitions. Make up your own neologism if you want to. But don't make the original word meaningless. That just ruins it all.
