It certainly didn't help that the DDP keeps thinking that parlor tricks, e.g., renaming the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, can substitute for good financial or diplomatic policy. Hopefully, Chen Shui-bian will be replaced by someone with brains, someone who doesn't make George W. Bush look like Franklin D.
