The goddamn Torch Relay.

Australia is having a great time watching the fucking contortions our government our going through with regards to the torch relay.

In chronological order (oldest first):

No chinese security forces will be allowed on Australian soil as part of the torch really.

OK, they'll be allowed, but they'll be stuck on a bus, so they won't really be on Australian soil.

But, because the tracksuited fellows won't be there, the police will get "special powers" for the torch relay period (]url=http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?t=113085]because that worked SO well at APEC[/url]).

That's not enough though, so now the tracksuited sunglass wearing chinese fellows will be running with the torch, but only three of them.


Fucking ridiculous. After all, we can't risk offending China. Especially not over something as important as the glorious torch relay tradition. Started by Nazi Germany.
