I bought a few private islands, a national highspeed rail network, and a clone of Angelina Jolie. I skipped the moon base, because I couldn't find any rockets for sale.

I think that's kinda the point... You could spendon every do-gooder, wizbang, and "gee, that'd be cool" and still not spend the full $3 trillion.

I got close, but with a computer each, food and education for more than 6 billion people, it's hardly suprising.

I stuck to buying boring things like ending US dependence on foreign oil, solar energy for all, curing a deadly disease, fending off foreclosure for 100k families, ending hunger and finish the Katrina repair work. Only spent half the $3 trillion though.

I spent it quite easily: complete US transport infrastructure overhaul, power grid overhaul, switching to wind turbines, switching to solar energy, organic foods and some other stuff but then couldn't buy the "research alternatives for oil" which cost $527 billion and I spent $2.55 trillion. Damn so close.

I managed to blow the budget with massive infrastructure spending. Full energy independance, a whole new rail network, new power grid, and other such big bill items.

Rail system, millennium Achievement goals, 50 years more for the Interstate Highway System, Universal Health Care, Fusion reactor, Space Elevator, world peace, Rice For All, Artist grants, 3 B-2s, 2 tuxedos, and some hippy sandals and I still have over 700 million to spend.

A lot of the prices seem to have been made up by people visiting the site, with no vetting process to approve them.

Lancet study of Iraq civilian deaths as well as ORB
Here's a quick Wiki for the basics
Lancet
ORB Survey, 1.2million dead.

Here's the basic facts.
The Survey method used by Lancet has been used a half dozen times by the Lancet and others in Africa and elsewhere to determine War dead, we(The US Goverment) used it in Kosovo.

However the thing is using this well vetted method results in very large death figures, much higher than the media is reporting or our own Government is reporting(Or used to report)

Despite the high death counts the people during the studies call it conservative, why? Because they exclude statical outliers like Basra is right now, or Fallujah was back in 2003.

So this standard method for counting war dead in a ongoing war zone results in figures ten times the intial bodycount(2003) and six times as high in 2006 and now 9 times as high in late 2007. Well we can't have that so we will attack the hell out of the study and ignore all the other wars where we took it's results at face value.

Or in other words, they likely are at least a million dead Iraq's.

This article pegs it at $5 trillion (5x10e12), adjusted for inflation. Doesn't say in what year's dollars, though.

That one's just silly, and also ironic considering it would require America to play world police even more than it already does.

The ones concerning feeding the world and ending hunger and povery related illness are based on UN and World Health Organisation studies. And you can manage that about 15 times over in the budget for the iraq war.

Except that, as has been bought up before, the problem is one of organization, transport and politics in the countries affected, not cash.

Side note: I finished the cash quite quickly, with energy, the Beatles back album, and health care. Oh, and some of the fun gadgets :)

That fateful TV ad wrote:Are you tired of people always calling you a chimp? Are you living in the shadow of your dad?

Well then this is your lucky day! We offer you the possibility to start an armed conflict!

With this special offer, you too can kill one million, yes you heard that right, one million free Iraqis for the low, low cost of only three trillion US dollars.

Here are some testimonies from other people that like our products:
"Before I started a war, I was a crappy politician without power and brains. Now I am working full-time as a dictator in a Central-African country."
"I killed twenty thousand people! It just makes me want to say: 'Mission accomplished!'"
"I started my first war in 1905, and I do say it was quite an experience. Behold as I flap my enormous moustache."

Call within 30 minutes and we'll throw in these Iraqi oils fields for free! All your friends have one, so what are you waiting for!

Can you say "Mission Accomplished"? Of course you can!
Call now! Or you'll never be cool.

Well, I made a simple selection.

216 cans of Red Bull for every man, woman, and child.

Or, a sword. Probably 100 cans of redbull AND a sword. I want to see intensely twitchy, jumpy sword fights dooming mankind.
