Gonna have to disagree with you, Tev. As nice as my fellow West Virginians can be, the majority of them are willfully ignorant and a good number of them cause their own problems.LadyTevar wrote:We're not stupid, but we don't have many college educated folks. We are poor, with most WVians with college educations leaving the state for work. Racist? Considering there's still whole counties that are 99% white, with towns that have never seen a 'person of color' outside a TV set? Yeah. You can call that Racist. Hick? That label seems to go with 'Poor' and 'Uneducated' no matter what state it is.
Of course, Charleston is one of the major urban centers of West Virginia, and it's certainly not where the majority of West Virginians live.Clinton wins this battle, but one look at the average Clinton voter (low-income, uneducated, poor, elderly) should be a warning, not a victory. Those who can think, those who have that college education, who are the 'cream' of the crop, are my neighbors in Charleston, black and white, who've got the town quilted with Obama signs, and who've bolstered that 76thousand + early voting spree.
Unfortunately and unlike the last time, our state chose the wrong side.WV may go to Clinton... but it's not going to be the landslide she's hoping for. She's still lost the War.
