My girlfriend's grandmother lives only a half our from Calavaris Big Trees - I really hope her house is going to be okay (and her, too). The smoke seems to have lightened up a bit, though the sky here in Contra Costa County is still completely gray/white, and I can physically smell the smoke.

The funny thing is that the pollution is the worst in the foot hills as the wind from the Bay Area funnels through the Carquinez strait and pushes the pollution up to the foothills.
So yeah...
