He does. I've heard him warn women repeatedly that Gardasil is an important option and that men can carry it asymptomatically and it is extremely commonly occurring. Almost all references to HPV refer to
cervical cancer (because this is the gross majority of cases), I do think it bares reminding anal sex enthusiasts that anal sex carries a whole host of important concerns and such that they may not be aware of (the common person is shockingly ignorant). Plenty of people I knew in high school didn't think they could get all STDs anally (much less that it was much easier) and a lot of people shirk using condoms because it increases the duration and friction of anal sex and because they cannot get pregnant. It definitely bares repeating. I don't see why he would add in the discussion of anal sex when its already stated in the discussion of HPV (he actually does not note the anal sex risk in that article, so it does bear repeating in my opinion).

I think we might be dealing with a selection bias here. Dr. Drew typically is not dealing with and hearing calls and questions from happy couples in their 30s and 40s who're smart and well-educated, safely engaging in sexual practices with mutual respect and care and raising a happy family. As a member of the generation which most commonly assails him with questions, inane and credible, absurd and obscene, I think it does bare repeating. A lot of boys in high school I think have fetishized it, and it has become a thing they pressure girls to go (an extra "base," if you will). Given there are many risks, not all of which are intuitive or as well exposed as the concerns surrounding vaginal sex (especially in puritanical America). Even on this board, I think both of us have been surprised with some of the "I need to put
that much lube on?" questions and what have you. He is acutely aware of the pressure and intimidation a lot of men put on women about anal sex and other sexual acts. I do think awareness of the act as an option has greater exposure younger nowadays than it might have in the past, though I'm certainly not the best to judge.
