I'm so sick of these racist fuckers pretending they didn't know they were saying something racist. And frankly, the people who stick up for them and say "what's the big deal" are probably racist too.

People in foreign countries, who aren't raised in the racist atmosphere of the USA are quite familiar with racist caricatures of blacks with fried chicken and watermelons. So anyone who is from this noisome environment and claims they didn't know is not only a racist, but a smarmy, lying racist.

This reminds me of the redneck who once said to me "Just because I call 'em niggers doesn't mean I'm a racist."

At the very least, it means he is utterly contemptuous of the issue of racism and the feelings it engenders, which is itself a problem and which strongly suggests that he is in fact a racist whether he admits it or not.

I don't find that surprising. We had a politician who said we were being "swamped" by Asians and that she had no where to go. Followed by I am not racist. The infuriating thing is, people can't see that as racist. When I say people, it usually is white guys, even though they could admit said politician was stupid for suggesting we print money to solve financial problems.

Paki makes sense seeing as Pakistan translates into Paki land or something similar.
Though, as I wrote that I remembered that nigger means black or dark. So I guess the literal definition doesn't matter much.

It IS a abbreviation in the light of day, but never the less it has gained very negative connotations through its constant usage by racist louts so it has warped into a derogatory term by default, just like the essentially innocuous "Chinaman", but racists make even "foreign" sound like a swear word. And ignorant UK racists call Indians 'fooking Pakis!' as well, in addition to south eastern Asians in general, and other Caucasians who have dark skin (like Greeks, Arabs or Israelis).

And the twat in question in this thread is not fooling anybody with his watermelon "gag", he looks so quintessentially Redneck it's not funny and he was idiot to think he could get away with it. And same goes to Margaret Thatcher's daughter at Wimbledon.

I was honestly unaware of 'Paki' being used in a pejorative manner. At least in this part of the states, I've never met a racist intelligent enough to say anything but 'Ay-rab' or 'sand nigger' when talking about anyone from Pakistan.
