US and other Western institutions are highly regarded in China. Even if you don't get a job right away the local universities, even the top ones, favor overseas qualifications so you can grab an MBA or law degree from a good university while grabbing local language courses if you have two or three years to spare. China requires mandarin more; Hong Kong has a big enough English community and is accommodating enough for English speakers that you can avoid Chinese and live an entirely successful and fulfilling life.Stark wrote:I wasn't just looking at teaching; if you're educated in (say) business or a profession, there seems to be high demand, not always with a 'speak native language' requirement.
