So, when confronted by a radical Progressive Socialist™ antibusiness conspiracy at loose in the country, what's the best way to save capitalism from the Forces of Evil™? Why, for capitalism to grind itself to a halt, of course:

Resolved that: The Obama administration and the Democrat-controlled Senate, in alliance with a global Progressive socialist movement, have participated in what appears to be a globalist socialist agenda of redistribution of wealth, and the waging of class warfare against our constitutional republic's heritage of individual rights, free market capitalism, and indeed our Constitution itself, with the ultimate goal of collapsing the U.S. economy and globalizing us into socialism.

Resolved that: President Obama has seized what amount to dictatorial powers to bypass our Congress, and that because the Congress is controlled by a Progressive socialist Senate that will not impeach one of their kind, they have allowed this and yielded what are rightfully congressional powers to this new dictator.

Resolved that: By their agenda and actions, those in our government who swore oaths to protect and defend our Constitution have committed treason against the United States.

Resolved that: The current administration and Democrat majority in the Senate, in conjunction with Progressive socialists from all around the country, especially those from Hollywood and the left leaning news media ( Indeed, most of the news media. ) have worked in unison to advance an anti-business, an anti-free market, and an anti-capitalist ( anti-individual rights and property ownership ) agenda.

Resolved that: These same factions expect that, by carrying out a radical anti-business agenda, which includes the passage and inflicting of Obama"Care" on our nation, class warfare and redistribution of wealth, and expanding the government, while killing businesses in this country with an environment hostile to business, including excessive regulations ( the average business must now spend about $11,700 per year per employee to comply with government regulations! ), and by borrowing and wasting more money than has been spent in the entire previous existence of our republic, that they will "create jobs", when in fact all they have "created" have been government jobs that consume wealth, and don't "create" it.

Resolved that: Our President, the Democrats-Socialists, most of the media, and most of those from Hollywood, have now encouraged and supported "Occupy" demonstrations in our streets, which are now being perpetrated across the globe, and which are being populated by various marxists, socialists and even communists, and are protesting against business, private property ownership and capitalism, something I thought I'd never see in my country, in my lifetime.

I, an American small business owner, part of the class that produces the vast majority of real, wealth producing jobs in this country, hereby resolve that I will not hire a single person until this war against business and my country is stopped.

I hereby declare that my job creation potential is now ceased.

I fucking love how globalization, which was pushed incessantly by the US since the 1940s, and led to the world as we see it now with the US its sole hegemon, is now suddenly being portrayed by some right-wing Americans as some sinister force aimed at forcing America into socialism.

It's like the moment globalization benefitted someone besides America, like China, it's a force of evil and we conveniently forget it was America that pushed for free global trade, with economic, diplomatic and sometimes military means.

There's a powerful split among the right between the nativist/populist wing (Tea) and the corporatist/Big Money wing (rest of the party).

The nativists and populists hate globalization because it's been eating up their access to blue-collar jobs for thirty years. The corporatists love it, but aren't vocal about it, because they're smart enough to know that they secure nativist/populist votes more reliably by pretending that they actually care whether Americans have jobs and prospects.

Not really surprising. Living in the South for the last ten years I've met many people just like this guy. They all buy into conspiracy theories pretty readily, to the point where a rational conversation is more or less impossible. Any evidence you could present will be dismissed out of hand as propaganda and lies made up by the conspiracy.
Also common is the belief that "free market" and "democracy" will always result with America as the king of the hill. If the USA isn't top dog, it must be because of government.

In the end, it's another example of simpletons doing their thing. It's comforting to believe that complex problems have one simple cause, and that cause is a sinister agenda that must be brought down. The reality that most problems have complex causes and no agenda is terrifying.

They do create jobs. Large businesses "create" employment as well, but far slower than the rest due to massively growing productivity in megacorporations which simply does not occur at the SME level. So SMEs create the bulk of employment (like, over 50%) in a perverse fashion precisely because their productivity is low compared to the megacorps. *laughs* Oh the times.

In the US, between 1995 and 2005, labour productivity of the largest enterprises increased by almost 70%, while the country’s labour productivity lagged largely behind with an increase of 9%. In consequence, the 1000 largest US enterprises are at the origin of a significant portion of the overall US economic growth. The same dynamics were at work in the European Union (15), where labour productivity in large enterprises progressed by 44% in 10 years, while the average productivity of the labour force (including unemployed) decreased by 6% (in current US dollars terms). The data for Japan are available only for the years 2000 to 2005, but they indicate that the overall decrease (in dollar terms) in labour productivity in Japan was slower in large enterprises than in the whole economy. Today, the largest enterprises of the Triad achieve levels of productivity that are between 140% (Japan) and 290% (US) of the average country productivity.
