No, because the muzzle angle shifted slightly upward right before the cannon fired, so it didn't hit the barrels of water and other obstacles designed to slow it down.
I guess you're right, the concrete wall wasn't supposed to be the only thing stopping the cannon ball.

I don't think they even had to be asked - they flat out said they would not show it, without prompting, as I recall. They take this very seriously and are not going to try to make bank over it. Which is the right thing to do.
