I didn't see this until now. I posted the story because I'm a recent university grad, and there was recently a shooting incident at the University of Alberta which is very close to home. I'm not an anti-gun person, either.

For everyone saying they don't post stories to see if anyone else will, and then being disappointed nobody does, please consider that not everyone has the same interests, and not everyone sees the same stories, meaning if you want to see a story posted, you should post it yourself. If it sinks or swims, you have more clear evidence for the predispositions of N&P posters. I posted this because I saw it while I was on Twitter.

So ... basically we find in this thread that several board members are not quite clear on what the meaning of the word "hypocrisy" actually is.

Wouldn't it only be hypocritical if this same mythical anti-gun conspiracy started posting news stories about people with guns saving the day? What does a completely unrelated incident that isn't front page news on any major news source that the majority of the forum's members would be habitually checking have to do with hypocrisy?

As Zod said, this only comes down to:
In other words what you're really upset over is that people are posting about topics you don't like?

Well, whenever this comes up, I remember this comic which sums up my feelings about this issue (at least with regards to American politics towards guns):
