I think the point he's trying to make is that so far as the US government is concerned, their jurisdiction extends wherever the hell they feel like extending it and anyone who's got a problem with that can piss off. I think we all see it that way. But there is a difference between seeing America's de facto worldwide jurisdiction, and actually relishing it and cheering for it. In my mind at least, someone who thinks like that would be horrible on a personal, daily life level; happily inflicting your power on hapless others is the mark of an asshole. And for such a legal expert, I'd assume he would know that nation-states were founded on the very idea that you can't fuck around with foreign peoples.

I'm sorry for implying that I could possibly make an argument about law using publicly available information? As a result of this misapprehension I made somewhat of a legal argument. Which I apologize as well for exposing people to.

Never said you did. It's also not true at all since the US isn't acting in this overtly imperialistic manner towards first-world nations or nations that have strong economic ties to them, like China. Therefore, there's no de facto assumed global US jurisdiction, just the old Might Makes Right imperialist bullying of the weak that's not exclusive to the US.
