This thread pretty much is a textbook example of the tendency of individuals to pathologize those they disagree with.

When you say "this thread", you actually mean "one post in this thread", but that doesn't let you get your knickers in a twist about how everyone is racist so why not mischaracterise everyone. (protip: Most people in the thread have been saying how he was a hateful shitbag and they're glad he's dead, with no reference to him being ill or anything but a disgusting example of humanity)

Big difference. When this asshole otherized someone, that other person was afflicted by him and his ilk. When I otherize someone, I do nothing to harm them... but if they harm themselves? Sorry. The two are just not comparable.

This suicide is an objective good. He will not be acting to harm others anymore. We bear no moral responsibility for his death--because he did it to himself. And moreover, the west views suicide differently than the primarily asian cultures he liked to emulate-while-also-being-racist-toward-them. He wanted to be a martyr. But in the west, someone ELSE has to kill you for that to happen. So even his death was ineffectual.

Schadenfreude. Taking pleasure in the deserved suffering of another--often self-inflicted or otherwise ironic in its generation. So, if you want me to somehow feel guilty about the glee I experience I have but one response .

And before that, he was in a bona fide fascist group (they had the same insignia as the SS Charlemagne division!). Some people may see a martyr, all I see is a dead fascist. If only more of his kind followed his example
