...And this morning it's being reported that there have been three cases of krokodil use in Will County, Illinois, just south west of Chicago.

As of this evening the number of Joilet (southwest of Chicago) krokodil victims is up to 5, one in intensive care who will probably lose both her legs.

A little more information has come to light. These people didn't cook it up themselves. They were basically young suburban addicts who thought they were buying heroin. Which means someone in the US is cooking this shit up and selling it as heroin, which difference apparently is impossible to detect until your skin starts rotting off.

The difference is not impossible to detect - heroin's high lasts three times longer, for a start. It would thus be immediately obvious that this supplier's product was shit, even if you didn't know precisely why it was shit.
