Do you really want to force a rewrite of
* freedom of religion
* freedom of association
* freedom of speech
* freedom of contract

and their relation to each other in the context of constitutional rights and principles? Because that is the level we're operating on if we want the issue to have a different outcome. You'd need to bend a lot of existing theory of first principles in the context of Western constitutional law and its interpretation seriously out of shape first, which is like using a multimegaton nuclear weapon to kill a single gnat. Sure, the gnat gets killed, but so does everything else in pretty damn big radius. Note that this is based on a layman's understanding of law and the underlying principles and assumptions that are used to construct legal systems, but it should be more or less headed in the generally correct direction. To explain all of this fully would require several pages worth of text that is more easily found in any Legal Theory 101 textbook.

The fact of the matter is that the teacher was already operating in an environment that bent the rules for him, probably because he was well liked and good at his job and it did not cause a lot of trouble. Then he forced the situation to a place where the rules couldn't be bent any further without breaking them entirely. At which point all elasticity went out of the situation and he ended up losing his job.

Why is it so goddamned hard to get little assholes like you to admit it when you fuck up? Is it pride? What gives you the right to have any pride?
