Haha, nice one! But seriously, Bulgaria was among the few poor losers of the anti-Russian sanctions (for most Western European nations the trade with Russia is too insignificant to matter). They did want to ressurect the 'South Stream' even though it was clear the thing's going nowhere.
So again, what is the evidence for it being German pressure and not the rising costs?
Who said "German pressure"?
I said Bulgaria was made to pull the plug: first Bulgaria was schooled by EC for breaching it's competitiveness rules during construction on its sections, and then Russia simply cancelled the project. Bulgaria hardly had any say in what happened. Unless of course you would say that it was Almighty Germany made EC launch infringement procedures against Bulgaria, which led to Bulgaria stopping construction, and which eventually also made Russia cancel the whole thing. Really?

My apologies, I thought you referred to that as you seemed to be arguing against me in the spat Irbis and I had.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood
