Which is why it is so important to cut this cancer out of the country: because the rot goes all the way to the top. And we shouldn't just kill them: Obama has a soapbox and a security clearance, he should be using it to destroy the lie that torture works. There should be nothing left of these bastards except the knowledge that it was all for nothing, and that if you repeat their stupidity you'll be next on the gallows.
A US President, especially one as controversial and accused of being a tyrant as Obama, trying to execute his predecessor from another party would be a fucking disaster. I actually wouldn't rule out a civil war, or at the very least an impeachment, had Obama done that.
Edit: And it damn well would have focussed everyone's attention on that to the determent of any other issues. I'm not saying Bush and company should get away with it, but Obama was between a rock and hard place.
Anyone who wasn't a Republican was going to be accused of being a commie tyrant by those same people. It's just the goto criticism for anyone to the left of their candidate.
In effect, immunity was bought for Bush et al by promoting the idea that the angry white people would rise against anyone arresting any of "their people."

From Wikipedia:
In March 2008, England told the German magazine Stern that the media was to blame for the consequences of the Abu Ghraib scandal. "If the media hadn't exposed the pictures to that extent, then thousands of lives would have been saved," she said. "Yeah, I took the photos but I didn't make it worldwide."[9][18] Asked about the picture of her posing with Graner in front of a pyramid of naked men, she said, "At the time I thought, I love this man [Graner], I trust this man with my life, okay, then he's saying, well, there's seven of them and it's such an enclosed area and it'll keep them together and contained because they have to concentrate on staying up on the pyramid instead of doing something to us."

I see nothing about a parade. Where was this supposed to have happened? I ask because I have searched for a bit and found nothing. I tried her home town and post encarceration home in WV and found nothing. You seem to be familiar with the details given your confirmation of a post accusation timeframe.
Upfront I think you made this up, but if you didn't I want this place on my no visit list.

I did not make it up. But god damnit if I can't find it anywhere, either. It was her hometown (where she grew up, not where she was born). I am positive there was a parade, but I may be misremembering or conflating 2 different things. IIRC it was 6 or 7 years ago. But yeah, no searches mention it. Weird.

Unfortunately their online official events calender doesn't go back that far.
I think its safe to say it didn't happen. At least not as an official public event anyway. Who knows what some crazies might do in their free time. The timeline is pretty tight, I am not sure when such a parade could have happened. Did she even come home before being accused?:
