Showdown with the Republic Guard
The first major engagement is supposed to be the engagement between the US 3rd and the RG Median Division or some such. Thats the division that has been being pounded by Longbows (and they managed to shoot down one and cripple several others).
Its being touted as the big make or break thing for public support in the western countries as well as Iraqi moral in their army. If the Coalition can win this with *reletivly* minimal casulaties, it will be a vindication. If they get a large bloody nose or signifigant loses it could be the begining of the end. Not in terms of assets, the US could easily fight on and win, but public opinion will not last if the US gets wacked hard.
So does anywhere here know what size unit the Median division is? Any links to a known OOB?
