It appears the main strategy of the trump administration is to issue lots of things, often incoherently if not contradictory, in fast succession.

This keeps opponents shrill, scatttered and emotionally burnt out, and makes it hard to get a grip on what is actually being done as opposed to suggested or claimed.

I request we have a single active trump pol thread numbered and locked weekly.
First post in thread is to have list of the previous weeks stuff, separated into legal actions, statements and rumours.

New stuff can be tagged in CAPITALS EG ACTION to make the week's thread faster to start. it is a little effort to maintain but might be a valuable resource to cut through the blather.

Yeah, but splitting the federal government down the middle between the ones willing to stormtroop and the ones who aren't is a good way to smash your administration in the opening phase, too.

Do you honestly think Trump's worried about breaking anything? He has already insulted the legitimacy and dignity of the highest office in the most powerful country in the world to fondle his ego.

I'm saying that if he keeps trying to use his ability to tell people to shut up and follow his orders as a club, there is a distinct possibility that it will splinter in his hands, well before the point where he actually gets secure enough power and control to run the country as a dictator.

Just because Trumpolini is too stupid to worry about the prospect of a plan not working, doesn't mean the plan will succeed.

This may be a good idea, as much as I'd hate to see individual stories get lost in a megathread (or worse, one particularly acrimonious discussion getting the whole megathread locked).

I just checked, and the top nine threads in this forum were directly related to Trump's regime, with the tenth being indirectly related.

At this rate, we could honestly create a Trump discussion sub-forum for News and Politics, and it would probably be more active than the main forum. Not an exaggeration.

The idea of having a weekly thread seems helpful there. If any one really big thing happens, it'll dominate discussion for that one week and won't get as "lost" as it might. If Trumpo does ten things in a week that we deem worth talking about... It's probably just as well if we don't start separate threads on all of them. Among other things because people will start losing track of what they've said where.

My proposal is to have two threads.

1) Trump's internal policy
2) Trump's foreign policy (if war is started, will be discussed there, if nukes fly, discussion will end automatically, so no problem if no new thread is made about it)

Good? If so, I'd suggest one of the mods sticky an acceptable thread and start merging the threads into it. It is time to go to sleep in my time zone.

If not, it will be the first thing I will do tomorrow.

This might seem redundant, but will it benefit N & P to have a section on Trump's promises that are
a. kept
b. broken
c. Partially kept

This should apply to promises that are more objective or clear. For example make America great again is quite vague so shouldn't be considered. Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it can be considered as a promise. His promise to drain the swamp while it appears colloquial, does refer to dealing with corruption and I will say at least something that can be judged objectively.

Going on his promise to build that wall and make Mexico pay for it, would be considered partially kept if he builds it, but fails to make Mexico pay for it. Scrapping the TTP looks like to fall under kept.

I would consider his policy of banning Muslim immigration, not kept for now even counting his ban even if the courts didn't strike it down. It targeted only a few Muslim nations and wasn't that specific as it also kept out Christians as one of the threads show.
