Actually, I think it would be for the best if I withdrew from this thread altogether. Regardless of whose to blame, there's too much hostility, on both sides, for a productive discussion, and at this point its just distracting from any discussion of the actual issue.

If I haven't managed to explain my position yet, another post is unlikely to accomplish it. My argument will have to stand or fall as it is. If you want to take that as a concession, so be it.

The two of us don't really have a debating history on this board, so I'm hoping that the existence of this clean slate will encourage you to listen to my friendly advice without assuming that I am only trying to attack or defame you in some way.

Maybe when you are engaging in some of these debates on the forum, and you find yourself in a situation (as with this thread), where literally every single other person in the thread is accusing you of some behavior or position that you don't think is fair, maybe instead of assuming there is some grand conspiracy of people with personal vendettas against you ... consider that maybe you are just communicating poorly? Generally speaking, people aren't out to get you, to defame or libel you, or to treat you differently than anybody else is treated on these forums. Before blowing up over a perceived slight, just take a breath and think for a few moments about whether you could have communicated your point more clearly.

I mean, I know you have some contentious histories with certain board members, but RawShark and SimonJester are certainly not among them; but you certainly seem to be trying your hardest to alienate them by the way you've responded to some of their posts. I've been following this thread pretty closely, and a lot of your posts seem very self-defeating, in that even when you do raise good and valid points they are overshadowed by your insistence on making everything personal.
