A French Boycott I agree with

Post by Sam Or I »

I usually find it stupid to boycott "French" product. (There is no way I am going to give up my UBI Soft products). I have finally found a French product which I find disturbing that the US purchases. That is the tombstones of fallen US Soilders in national cemeteries.

That is so childish and pathetic...

That "Oh theat country disagrees with us, let's boycott it..." approach.
It *is* a childish behaviour, something one usually observes in kindergartens.

If a soilder dies fighting a war that France did not agree with, I do not think France should make a profit on that Soilders death.

Does anyone find it ironic French fries are now Freedom fries, even though they came from Belgium?

But it's morally better for an American company to make profit with dead soldiers?

I certainly agree with that sentiment. Not with other boycotts in general but this one certainly.

That rep is obviously capitalising on anti-French sentiment in trying to get business for the quarry in his own district. The whole article is nausesa inducing, for several reasons. And not necessarily the ones stated in this thread.

I don't think that matters to whoever was pushing it. They were probably thinking "It has "French" in it, so it must go", or something like that. I'm sure all of the Congressmen who wanted that stuff probably went to their homes, opened the Freedom doors to their bedroom, found an intern in a Freedom maid out fit, and Freedom kissed her.

This is more political bullshit. This asshole is simply trying to use his influence to ban competition from a company in his district, giving the "think of the fallen soldiers" excuse. This man is marginalizing their sacrifice by using their death to push his own agenda. Fucking makes me sick.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.
