Indiana's Governor Dead
I'm surprised a thread hasn't been started about this yet. I don't have much info about it right now, just found out on AIM. All I know is that a few days ago O'Bannon had a stroke while in Chicago, and was in a coma. He was recovering, but from what I just heard, his family decided to take him off of life support, beause it was in his will or something like that. I haven't gotten that confirmed yet, but if it's true then that pisses me off.

???? The afternoon news shows said that he started getting worse last night. His family was merely honoring his wishes. Wishes he cared about enough to form a living will over and discuss with his family. There is nothing to be angry over.
To play the devil's advocate, the man had essentially promised his life for a time to the State of Indiana, and his family has deprived the State of their worker.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

Politicians don't promise their lives. They promise to do their jobs. Unless Indiana has some odd laws, he could have even stepped down if he wanted to.Howedar wrote:To play the devil's advocate, the man had essentially promised his life for a time to the State of Indiana, and his family has deprived the State of their worker.
If that was some sort of bizare psueo-religious suicide done on a whim, you might have a point. But it wasn't. He almost certainly had little chance of recovery or the family doctors wouldn't have allowed this.
Fate deprived the people of Indiana of their governor, not his family or anyone else.
