Another opening and one more show.
In the visitors dugout, the Twins demonstrated today why I love to watch them play baseball. Great defense, fast players, a highlights-reel catch in the bottom of the ninth (Shannon Stewart robbed a fan of a souvenier and Hideki Matsui of a 3-run dinger) and pitchers who conspired to leave ten Yankees stranded on base over the course of nine innings.
In the home dugout, the Yankees SUCKED today. Lousy execution on both defense and offense led to a well-deserved defeat, and even in the best case scenario (for them) a two-game date with Minnesota LOUD at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.
At worst (again, for the Yanks), the Twins'll shut 'em down on Thursday night and deliver the final blow on Saturday.
Twins 3, Yankees 1: 1 down, 2 to go.
